As a green is far from a tee
Golf is what has been to me
till the day of yesterday
when I got to see the play
of the masters of the world
with their clubs and how they hurled
the little ball
towards the hole
towards the pin
impassioned and in hope to win
With birdies and with bogeys too
they made the game so great to see
I quickly got to understand
the rules
how many pars at hand
below, above
a hole in one
a dogleg
how a putt is done
Once a ball lands in a bunker
it gets more difficult to conquer
out of the fairway, it’s to say
one has to catch up with his play
Requiered is no handicap
and a little bit of luck
And lucky was this time a guy
who never won before that high
and me of course
without remorse
was happy that I saw that course
