In my thoughts you were tonight 
when suddenly I sat upright 
your voice was there
I heard my name
But you were sleeping at my side

How sweet are you in peaceful slumber
dead to the world and I did wonder
Where are you
right now, and me?
Did I dream? - I can’t remember 

Those few words, I heard so clearly
like a revelation nearly 
brought to me
what can I say?
all I felt, was love so dearly

In my thoughts you were tonight
and I held you close and tight
