to my hiking friend

He was my neighbour and he took me out to the mountains, when Covid locked us in. In a diffucult time, we became best friends. Meanwhile Covid has gone, which is good. But I badly miss my friend, who moved back to England….

Thanks a lot my dearest friend
for all the hikes and trails we went
for the challenges and climbs
in autumn, spring and summer times

The winters too for walks were great
with you my best, my hiking mate
I will remember each of them
every single hike - a gem

We saw the beauty high up there
peaks and flowers everywhere
eagles, deers and marmots too
grateful moments - shared with you

All the laughter, all the fun
the picnics in the mountain sun
and at the end for our sake
we often had a drink and cake

Thanks not least for many talks
here and there on our walks
It was a precious time with you
I miss you badly - Yes I do!
Gauschla - still waiting for us

der Steinblick

Ich leide am Steinblick beim Wandern
vor lauter Steine
kommt mir der Weitblick abhanden
mein Auge entdeckt
grosse und kleine
mitunter geschickt
findet es gar
ein seltenes Paar
was Glück ist, ich meine
das freut mich schon sehr
denn manche Steine
sind alt und antik
eigentlich alle
doch manche sind‘s mehr
und eben auch schick
darum passiert es
oft wegen einem
oder der Fülle
von schönen Steinen
dass ich den Ausblick
beim Wandern verpasse
die Augen am Boden
herum wandern lasse
es holt mich der Steinblick
doch jedes Mal ein
und lässt mich des Abends
noch steinreicher sein
